Silver Lake-based jewelry designer Daria de Koning got her start designing custom engagement rings before launching her own line in 2006;
since then, the trained fine artist and gemologist has quietly garnered a cult following for her distinctive pieces. “I can’t resist a gorgeous cabochon,” says de Koning, who describes her work as “painting with gems,” and favors emeralds and sapphires, as well as more unusual elements such as blue opals, rainbow moonstones and even fossilized coral.
