amid a deep-rooted redwood fairy ring in the Santa Lucia Preserve, Laurie Arons Special Events and Mindy Rice Design fulfilled the vision of an overgrown yet understated wedding ceremony for San Francisco couple Jessica Halper and Jim Patterson. The moody, towering trees were juxtaposed with traditional white and cream-colored blooms—including princess spray roses, Quick Fire hydrangeas, hops blossoms, garden roses and lisianthuses—and an abundance of ferns, lining the aisle and forming a chuppah-inspired structure at the altar. “The rays of light poured through the tree canopy in the late afternoon, naturally illuminating the lushness,” remembers florist Mindy Rice.
